Rainy monday
Hammersmith - 1 week before Christmas
Trying to get more details, 20 odd layers for lights and reflections. Still, there are so much more to them in reality, but I guess it is not really about photo realism but the emotions that carry forward. Reminds me of Pixar's the blue umbrella.
In a way, I've always wanted to capture lights in a rainy night, the way water reflects lights is just so wonderful. Many people doesn't like rain, for me, I've grown to really appreciate it..

A little one for Mom
"Children make you appreciate your parents"
There is always something about a sketch that is much more appealing to me than finished works. Maybe the playful roughness, unanswered questions and details give a broader interpretation of the subjects making it more interesting. There is certainly a better sense of movement in this sketch comparing to the painting. Wonder if I can ever fully capture the true essence of a sketch. Maybe it is better to leave out many details and just focusing on what is important.

The shop downstairs
Little shop below the office that sell many things. One of the most beautiful and interesting shop in the area. It's been around for quite sometime but to this day I still have no idea what are they actually selling. Every time I walk by I notice something new, the bowls of foods, the cupcakes, the fruits, the cafe machine... I never actually look at the menu on the walls, maybe it is better this way, keeps you wonder for a little longer.
Always a joy to walk by this place.

What a masterpiece..
Art style in Isao Takahata's movie has always been intriguing, but this is just on another level. The animation and drawing is definitely not perfect, not the most refined, it is very rough even, but so full of life and emotions.
